With spring baby showers and Earth Day approaching, I was motivated to design this Bumble Bee Hat in three sizes: newborn, child, and adult. It’s perfect for those tending hives and raising awareness about the plight of the bumble bee (as opposed to the “Flight of the Bumble Bee” by Rimsky-Korsakov.) I knit my model in Kraemer’s Alpaca DK, but you could use bright yellows and blues to turn up the cuteness dial.

I purchased this pattern and used it two create 3 hats in all three sizes (new born, child and adult). The adult pattern was very small. Also, the pattern instructions contained no details about how to incorporate the bumble bee design using intarsia. I was very disappointed.

Hi Barbara, so sorry, I don’t use intarsia on the pattern, just stranded knitting. Good to know the adult was small. Will look at that again. Paula
